Wave Energy, llc to provide bi-annual $500.00 scholarships.
At Wave Energy, we value education and growth in the energy conservation industry. We understand that school can be a significant expense and we know how hard it can be for students and families to make ends meet. Every dollar matters. In an effort to make things a little easier, and to help promote our important industry, we will be offering a bi-annual scholarship (June 2017 and December 2017) of $500.00 to students currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in the following areas of study (or related):
Sustainable or Renewable Energy Planning and Management
Energy and Environmental Policy
Energy and Building Services Engineering
There is a broad range of specific programs that serve the energy efficiency industry. not listed. Relevant programs not listed will be considered.
In order to apply, applicants must submit a 700+ word essay on the following topic:
Cool roofs include a range of both established and emerging technologies. As of recent, liquid applied coatings have received more attention as a tangible solution for existing roof structures. A 'White roof' coating can increase efficiency significantly. Other additives and insulating materials can also be mixed and applied to increase efficiency of pigmented coatings providing more color palette options for application. In Florida, there is controversy in regards to the application of coatings to existing asphalt shingled roofs. What are the benefits and what are the risks associated with applying cool-roof coatings to asphalt shingles. Recommendations and why?
Submissions for the June 2017 scholarship will be accepted from January 1, 2017 to June 1, 2017 with the winner being chosen by June 30, 2017.
Submissions for the December 2017 scholarship will be accepted from July 1, 2017 to November 30, 2017 with the winner being chosen by December 31, 2017.
Complete the online registration form when you have completed your essay.. You will then receive instructions to submit your survey via email.
Winners will also have their essay published on our website as a featured article with a student profile and bio.
